"We are thrilled to be opening our restaurant in the Capitola Village," say owners, Ashley and Adam Bernardi. "We chose the Village as the location for Sotola because of the dynamic and diverse neighborhood. Our concept is California Farmstead focusing on local farms, ranches and seafood. Our mission is to provide every customer with farm fresh ingredients through simple and delicious dishes. The name Sotola comes from a rare moment in local history. Sotola was once intended to be an alliance between Capitola and Soquel. The name of the new restaurant commemorates an early 20th century venture that never became a reality. Both Sotola owners are born locals of Santa Cruz. Ashley has always dreamed of opening up a small restaurant. And Adam, a born foodie, includes a background in restaurant work. Together for a decade and with two children, Ashley and Adam have set out to build a restaurant together that locals and tourists alike will want to keep coming back. "We want Sotola to be an extension of our home".
